Success In MLM – How To Create It

Success in MLMSuccess in MLM comes down to doing a few things very well and very consistently.

Is product training important?  Sure.

Is understanding the compensation plan important? Yes, but you really can do that as you go along.

Is upline important? It’s nice when your upline is good, communicates, trains, and supports, but even if you have the worst sponsor or upline in history, you can create success in MLM.

If you really want to experience success in MLM, you need to make the decision that you are going to get serious about generating new leads on a regular basis.

Now, depending on who you talk to, you are bound to have people tell you “Don’t do that. Do this.” You will have people telling you things like, “the old ways don’t work any more”. But here is the reality of it: If what you are doing has you talking to and presenting to real people, then it’s working. Do everything you possibly can to generate new leads on a regular basis if you truly want to succeed in this industry.

In my own business, I utilize all the social media channels I can. I post on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and I write articles for this blog. The end result: My advertising generates new leads on a consistent basis. But what you don’t see me doing is telling people that this is the only way.

I also talk to people face to face. I don’t try to “pitch” them. I don’t try to “convince” them. I just have conversations. Along the way, I ask questions. When I identify someone that can benefit from what I offer, I tell them about it and how to learn more.

Here are some real world examples of how I have experienced success in MLM over the past 20 years:

I talk to people all the time. When I’m at the bar, I strike up a conversation. Having dinner? Strike up a conversation. At a gig? Strike up a conversation. In a car being driving by an Uber of Lyft driver? Strike up a conversation.

When I wake up in the morning, I typically start my day with coffee in one hand and my iPhone in the other. I am posting on social media, following up with prospects, training team members, etc…

I also run online advertising. My online ads are connected to a capture page so that people can fill out the form to request more information when they are interested. From there, my autoresponder follows up, sends information, and lets me know what they are doing.

Here is the challenge: When someone finds out I do online marketing, they think, “That’s it! I’ll do THAT!” When someone finds out I talk to people face to face, most are too scared. Some think, “Aha! That’s the secret!” Here is the real deal: They are ALL great ways to generate new leads. All we are really doing is letting people know we have something. IF they are interested, they let us know and we go on from there. If they are not interested, it’s just a conversation and we can move on to other topics such as family, music, entertainment, sports, weather, etc…

Just be a human. Talk to other humans. Ask good questions. Help guide people toward solutions for their problems.

The better you become at these things, the more likely you are to experience success in MLM.
