A lot of people misunderstand the value of mlm advertising. A lot of people are currently searching for information about making money from home. They are open to learning more and are actively seeing out information about franchises, network marketing, affiliate marketing, and more.

The mistake happens when someone starts their mlm advertising program with the idea that folks are looking for something to join. They are not looking for something to join. They are looking for a solution to their problem. The obvious problem would be income. They want to make more money. Or maybe they are looking for help with health related issues, weight loss, etc… Maybe they already have a business of their own and they are looking for ways to build that business.

One of the biggest mistakes I see is when people advertise their company name. Why is this a mistake? If people already known the company name, chances are, they are talking to someone in that company. The person talking to them already has the advantage. More likely, they have no idea what that company is, so seeing an ad that just lists a company name is pointless. Instead, make your headline or your banner copy about how you can help the reader solve a problem.

Another big mistake I see is when someone’s ad points directly to a registration page. Again … nobody is out there searching for something to join. Link your ad to a capture page that offers information on how you can help them solve a problem.

When they click your ad, they are saying,  “Ok, I’m interested enough to learn more.” When they get to your site, they should see how they can learn more. If they fill out the form, they are entered in to your database for follow up. You can begin and you have just given yourself a huge opportunity to bring on a new customer and/or a new team member.

Don’t think in terms of your company name. Think in terms of how your product, service, or opportunity can help your readers solve a problem. You aren’t actually selling banner advertising. You are actually showing people how to find more potential customers. You aren’t selling magic shakes.  You are showing people how to get healthier by changing a habit.
