Yes Network Marketing Can Be Profitable

thumbs125x125Even after 15  years as a full-time network marketer, I still have people asking me, “Does that network marketing stuff really work?”. They always ask about how I don’t have to set my alarm clock. They see me driving around in a rather nice car that was provided as a bonus incentive. They see that I have been traveling with my family. They see that I never miss an important event in my family’s life. And they still ask if this network marketing stuff really works.

They have absolutely no problem with trading 40 years of their life, 40+ hours at a time, to make someone else rich, and they get a check that they are going to complain about every time they receive it.

They already KNOW their current job model is just wearing them down. If they think about it for even a little bit, they recognize that if they stay on their current path the only thing they are going to be at the end of that 40 year career is tired. Statistically speaking, they are DEFINITELY not going to be financially independent.

But show them how they can short cut that 40 years to maybe 10 years, 5 years, 2 years, or even 1 year with the network marketing business model and they just look at you like you’re crazy.

Inevitably, they refer to someone they knew …  a friend of a friend … an uncle … a relative … or someone that somebody heard about from a friend that tried “one of those things” and they say “It didn’t work”. That’s why they would “never join one of those deals”.

But we all know someone (maybe it was you) who had one of those job things and they got fired … they got downsized … they got let go … and they still keep looking for yet another job. Or maybe they were able to keep their job and the pay was enough to simply keep them coming back to the job for years without ever providing an opportunity to earn more and finally reach a level of financial freedom or even financial stability.

Ask around among the people you know. Find out if any of them know anyone that retired from a traditional job where that job allowed them to become financially free. My guess is that you MAY find 1 out of 100 who were able to achieve some level of financial freedom at the end of their 40 year career path. Of those, most of them probably lived a fairly meager lifestyle in the hope that they would “some day” be able to enjoy the fruit of their labor. God forbid they don’t live long enough to see that time come. It happens.

No doubt, there is plenty of information to verify that a lot of people do not make money in network marketing, too. There can be a number of facts that contribute to that reality.

Sometimes, folks sign up as “distributors” to get access to wholesale pricing. They may never actually intend to do any real business building. These folks are simply never going to make any money because they didn’t intend to. Their lack of “financial success” gets reported as someone who didn’t make any money in network marketing.

Sometimes, folks sign up with good intentions but never follow through with actual training so they never develop the skills to really succeed. Imagine deciding you want to go in to the construction business but you don’t know anything about which tools to use for each part of the job. Without some training, you’re never going to build a house, much less a mail box! But a lot of folks approach their network marketing careers in the same way. These folks also get reported as part of the “didn’t make any money in network marketing” group.

I used to teach music lessons. Most of my students NEVER practiced. They kept showing up to their lessons with a ton of excuses about why they didn’t spend 15 minutes learning what they were paying me to teach them. We would spend the time repeating last week’s lesson material. Guess what. None of them are playing professionally. Makes me wonder why nobody says “music lessons are a scam”.

So how are these getting written? How did someone go from broke to being a millionaire within a few years? How do people build their network marketing business to a level that allows them to fire their bosses?

These are the people who made up their minds that they were starting a business rather than buying a lottery ticket.

These are the people who actually showed up for training and then took ACTION to do what their real upline sponsors and leaders instructed them to do.

These are the people who experienced setbacks, disappointments, and frustrations but kept moving forward anyway.

They all thought about quitting at some point (or several points) but they also knew that the job they used to have offered virtually zero opportunity for more than a paycheck that was already too small. So they just kept pushing. They just kept learning. They just kept doing. They just kept teaching.

For these people, network marketing became profitable.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Will my regular job allow me to make as much money as I want or am I stuck at this particular income range no matter how well I perform?
  • Will my regular job allow me the possibility of building a team and being able to earn not only from my own efforts but also from the efforts of the team I build and train?
  • Will my regular job offer me the possibility of time freedom where I can vacation where I want, when I want, and for as long as I want?
  • Will my regular job allow me to take time to be with my kids, family, or friends for important (or just fun) events whenever I choose?

If you can’t answer “yes” to each of these questions, then I find myself asking, “Why wouldn’t you at least consider starting some sort of network marketing business on the side so that these options DO become available to you?”

Yes. Network Marketing Can Be Profitable. The real question is whether or not you are ready to put in the work required to succeed. It’s a journey well traveled and if you are ready, I highly recommend you get started ASAP!
