Let’s start by helping you decide if you should have a mentor.
Imagine having someone who is dedicated to actually helping you succeed in your business. Ideally, this should be your upline in your network marketing business. Why? Your success will directly impact their success.
We need to take just a minute to explain what I mean by having someone help you. This should not be confused with “having someone do your work for you”. A good mlm mentor is someone who has experienced a level of success that you would like to achieve. They will be able to show you what they did, provide some coaching along the way, and help hold you accountable for doing the work on your end.
One of the best mlm mentors I ever had the honor to meet said to me, “Don’t work with those who want it. Work with those who earn it.”. Everybody “wants” someone to help them build their business. Very few people are actually putting in the work to earn the attention of their upline.
Before you approach someone about being your mlm mentor, be prepared to show them what you have learned from them, so far. Demonstrate how you have applied the information they have provided. A good mentor is going to be all about results. They are going to be much more interested in working with someone who is actually DOING the work than someone who is talking about and asking for help but never applying the available information.
A good mlm mentor is going to be able to show you how to avoid expensive mistakes, how to get past your initial start up fears, and how to partner with other success-minded business people.
These days, it is easier than ever to get hold of information from some very successful mlm mentors. Take in all the information you can. Take advantage of every opportunity to hear them live. Then, and this is the really important part: Put what you learn in to action.
Your business will thank you for it!
